AA, pg. xiii (And of this Group) The Primary Purpose Group is committed to carrying the Message found in the book “Alcoholics Anonymous”, to the alcoholic who still suffers. We aim to demonstrate the simplicity of the program and encourage our members to work the twelve steps as outlined in the big book, as they were worked by the A.A. pioneers in the 1940's when the recovery rate from alcoholism was 75% and greater.  

What we do

We hold two meetings on Sundays: 
9:00 am
at “Our House, 401 Division St, Elmira, NY.  
5:00 pm (Step Workshop) at the Hand In Hand Church, 390 Warnick St, Elmira, NY.
 

Thursday night Big Book Step Study:
8:00 pm at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, corner of Pennsylvania Ave. and Mt. Zoar, Elmira, NY

We do group step work, out of the book like was done on the 30's and 40's.  We study and put into action the steps of alcoholics anonymous as directed by the book alcoholics anonymous. we pray, we meditate, we help when asked, we tell our truth,  and we have fun and we have freedom, and we need you. come join us.  All of this is simply part of our 12-step work. Please disregard anything that you cannot reconcile with the Big Book.

Our Group Conscience 1st Sunday each month

Our Second Tradition: For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority—a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
